We will continue to update this section as more initiatives are made public
CARING FOR OUR HOMELESS
The harsh reality is that people experiencing homelessness are two to three times as likely to die during this pandemic than the general public. Coordinated outreach and response efforts are being launched to ensure these vulnerable individuals receive the critical support necessary. Akido is supporting our country’s largest homeless outreach efforts in identifying hotspots, facilitating access to care, and containing viral spread.
PROTECTING SAFETY NET COMMUNITIES
Members of our safety net communities will be hit hardest by the pandemic as a result of socioeconomic factors and social determinants of health. Led by teams of top academic researchers and physicians, Akido is powering initiatives to distribute critical information to these communities, and trace disease spread to minimize their risk.
POWERING ICU SURVEILLANCE
As resources become harder to come by for hospitals located in the heart of our country’s busiest cities, several are struggling to keep up with the demand for PPE and ventilators. Critical care networks are utilizing Akido to power nationwide ICU surveillance efforts that will monitor system stress levels in real-time and across multiple geographies.
ENSURING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES CONTINUE TO THRIVE
COVID-19’s impact on our social systems disproportionally affects those living with disabilities, threatening their educational and economic outcomes. In response, our partners are enacting initiatives to bolster resilience by gaining a deeper understanding of these consequences. Akido is aiding these efforts by capturing and analyzing data at state levels to inform program response and policymaking.
EASING ACCESS TO TESTING SERVICES
Limited supply of COVID-19 testing kits has put immense pressure on health care providers to deliver tests to the communities they serve. Provider partners in geographies across the country are utilizing Akido to facilitate access to testing services, manage traffic across their sites, and track demand at region-wide levels.
